Donald J. Maillet

Donald “Don” J. Maillet,78, of Gardner, died peacefully Monday, March 22, 2021, in his residence after a brave fight with cancer.  

Born in Gardner on October 13, 1942, he was the son of the late Adolphe and Mary Blanche (LeBlanc) Maillet. Don was a Maintenance Worker employed by Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner for 21-years until his retirement in 2007. He was previously employed by Gardner Wood Products.

Don was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether he was camping or working in his yard. Don was an excellent woodworker and loved to tinker around. He loved animals, especially his cat Grayl, who will greatly miss him. But the time that Don loved the most was spent with his family.

Don is survived by his wife of 48-years, Patricia L. (Pineo) Maillet; two sons, Jason D. Maillet of Gardner and Michael Maillet and his girlfriend, Julie Smith of Gardner; a grandchild, Noah M. Maillet; a brother, Albert Joseph “Fat” Maillet and his wife Helen of Gardner; a sister Helen C. Maillet of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his three brothers, Albanie J. Maillet, Abel “Pete” Maillet, and Omer J. Maillet; two sisters Cecile Tarmasiewicz and Lauretta Maillet; and his dog Bizkit.

Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
