Donald A. Lania, 72, of Saco, ME, died peacefully Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, after an illness.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on February 24, 1950, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bernadette (Rizzo) Lania. Don was a Shipper and Receiver for many years prior to his retirement.
Don was a parishioner of St. Margaret Church at Good Sheppard Parish of Saco, ME. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching football. Don’s pride and joy was his family, treasuring all the special moments they had together.
Donald is survived by his wife of 49- years, Mary E. (McQuiggan) Lania, of Saco, ME; a son, Kenneth Lania and his wife Melissa of Dracut, MA; a daughter, Laurie Davis and her husband Christian of Gardner, MA; four grandchildren, Tyrus Beaudoin, Kody Lania, Daniel Landry and Joseph Davis; a brother, Joseph Lania of Arlington, MA; a sister, Anne Devani of New Hampshire; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 18, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA.
A Calling Hour will be held Monday, July 18, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Please reference in memory of Donald A. Lania.
