Dolores A. "Do" Brassard, 82, of Gardner died unexpectedly and peacefully, on Saturday, March 23, 2013 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Ave North, Worcester, surrounded by her family.
Dolores was employed by Mount Wachusett Community College, Gardner as a Staff Assistant for 21 years, retiring in 1991. She was previously a Loan Officer for the Bank of Montreal, Canada for 13 years.
She received her education from the Presentation of Mary School in Granby, Quebec, Canada and remained a devoted volunteer with their works of charity.
Dolores enjoyed gardening, bird watching, playing the piano, golfing, skiing and curling. She was an artist, designer and carpenter. She loved to travel, and especially enjoyed her trips to Hawaii and a train excursion from Montreal to Vancouver. Dolores' favorite television shows were NCIS, How To Be a Millionaire and Western Movies; her favorite actors were John Wayne and Tom Selleck. Dolores spent her life actively involved in community service, was a devoted daughter to her parents for whom she cared for many years, and she also cared for her sister Beatrice. "Do" was known to tremendously spoil her nieces, nephews and 'grands' as well. She was a kind, gentle soul with a beautiful smile, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dolores leaves her devoted friend, Sandra B. Signor of Gardner; her sister, Beatrice M. Leger of Gardner; two nieces, Susan Smith and her husband Travis of Peabody and Louise Morgenstern and her husband Robert of Gardner; one nephew, Francis Leger and his wife Carole of Georgetown, Texas; two great nieces, Erin Foote & her husband Casey and Jennifer Morgenstern; one great nephew, Jason Morgenstern & his wife Laura; two great-great nieces, Abigail and Gabriela; two great-great nephews, Benjamin and Liam; and many additional extended family members.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 27th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
