Diane Alma (Voisine) Guertin, 91, of 115 Otter River Rd., Templeton, and formerly of 101 Waterford St. Gardner where she had lived for 58 years, died peacefully Friday, June 18th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville surrounded by her family.
Born in St. Basil, N.B., Canada on October 20, 1918, she was the daughter of Onesime and Elise (Martin) Voisine.
Mrs. Guertin was a self-employed seamstress for several local customers including J.A. LeBlanc Clothing Store, Garbose Clothing Store and Hunts Lodge, all of Gardner. She owned and operated Diane's Donut Shop of Gardner from 1955 to 1970.
Mrs. Guertin was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society.
She was an accomplished seamstress and also enjoyed knitting and cooking. Her biggest enjoyment came from loving and spending time with her entire family.
Her husband of 24 years, Wilfred Guertin, died in 1969.
Mrs. Guertin leaves 6 sons, twins Robert A. Guertin and his wife Carol of Gardner, Roland B. Guertin and his wife Diane of Hubbardston, Normand H. Guertin and his wife Linda of Leominster, Roger W. Guertin of Templeton, twins Ronald Guertin and Donald Guertin, both of Gardner; 3 daughters, Rachel D. Thibodeau of Gardner, Lucille A. Diemdowicz of Templeton, with whom she lived, Anne A. Beauregard and her husband Eugene of Gardner; 15 grandchildren, Susan Lucier, Steven and Matthew Guertin, Michael, Darrin, Randy, Douglas, Jason Guertin, Michelle Bisbee, Robert Thibodeau Jr. and Christine Thibodeau, Ashley Charon, Tracey Diemdowicz, Shawn and Kyle Beauregard; 19 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 6 brothers, Thady, Barthy, Yvon, Ernest, Adolph, Germain Voisine and 3 sisters, Jeanne Thibodeau, Eugenie Guertin and Germaine Smith.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 23rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, June 22nd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
