Diane M. (Adams) Dikson, 67, of 176 Riverside Road, Gardner, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Belmont Street, Worcester, with her family present by her side, following a long illness.
Diane was born in Gardner on January 14, 1944, the daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Dagelis) Adams.
She graduated from Gardner High School, Gardner with the Class of 1962. Diane received her Nursing Degree from Heywood School of Nursing in 1965.
She was employed by Heywood Hospital in Gardner as a Registered Nurse for 26 years, retiring in 1990. Diane was a Nursing Supervisor and also worked in the Telemetry Department while employed at Heywood Hospital. She was a member of the Massachusetts Nursing Association.
Diane enjoyed traveling, doing crossword puzzles, basket weaving and crafts. She loved to cook, and enjoyed watching cooking shows on television. Diane was an avid sports fan of baseball, football and NASCAR.
She leaves her husband of 41 years, John E. Dikson of Gardner; her twin sister, Donna N. Courtemanche and her husband Randall of Templeton; two aunts, Mary Riley of Gardner and Jadwiga Engman of Westminster; one uncle, Stanley Dagelis of Gardner; one special nephew, Charles R. Courtemanche, his wife Stacey and their son chase of Lunenburg; and several cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 8th at 10:30 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Sunday, August 7th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
