Diana D. (Landry) Olivari, 88, of Gardner, died peacefully Saturday, April 9, 2016 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Lake Ave, Worcester, following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on December 13, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Hector and Dolanda (Dube) Landry.
Diana was employed by the former George B. Bent Company, Inc. of Gardner as a furniture decorator for 12 years, retiring in 1983.
She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner.
Diana enjoyed crafts, golfing and spending time with family. She spent many years as a volunteer aid at Heywood Hospital of Gardner, where she also created May Baskets for the hospital's Gift Shop every Spring. Diana also volunteered at Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, was a member of the Gardner Chapter of AARP, member of the American Legion Post 129 of Gardner Woman's Auxilliary and the Hubbardston Golden Agers.
She leaves her husband of 66 years, Angelo "Sid" Olivari of Gardner; one brother, Alfred Landry and his wife Georgette of Gardner; sister-in-law, Terry Landry of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Hector Landry; and by two sisters, Lorraine Goguen and Priscilla Monette.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 20th at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
