Delphine M. "Del" (Hebert) Martin, 96, of 104 Church Street, Gardner died Thursday, November 5th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, surrounded by her family following a brief illness.
Born in Rumford, Maine on March 9, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Azella (Gallant) Hebert.
Delphine was a seamstress for many years employed by R. Smith Company of Gardner. She was previously employed by Heywood Wakefield Manufacturing Company and Sieberts Manufacturing Company, both of Gardner.
Delphine was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner. She was a former member of Cercle Social Franco-Americain Club.
She enjoyed sewing with her sewing club, interior decorating and cooking. She was an avid reader, loved politics and was a history buff of British Royalty. Delphine most enjoyed time spent with her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred J. Martin who died in 1982.
Delphine leaves one daughter, Barbara A. LeBlanc of Bernardston, MA; three grandchildren, Gail A. LeBlanc of Leominster, Gwyn A. LeBlanc of Suffield, CT, Gaye A. Paquette and her husband Anthony of Sheldon, VT; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jessica Paquette; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Edgar J. Hebert, Albin Breau and Roger Breault; one sister, Marie Breau; and by one grandson, Gary P. LeBlanc.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 9h from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Monday, November 9th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
