Delia M. (Hebert) Barbee, 75, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner died Monday, January 31st in the Leo P. LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Cocagne, NB, Canada on December 23, 1929, she was the daughter of Arthur and Eva Marie (Goguen) Hebert. She relocated to the United States in 1948.
She was a general factory worker employed by Hartshorn Mfg. Co. of Gardner for 5 years, retiring in 1982. She was previously employed by Nichols & Stone Co.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Mrs. Barbee enjoyed playing beano, playing harmonica and telling jokes.
She leaves a daughter, Phyllis Caisse of St. Marie, NB, Canada; 3 brothers, Ernest Hebert of Fitchburg, Raymond Hebert of Gardner and Theodore Hebert of Tarpon Springs, FL; 3 sisters, Therese Downing, Doris Collette both of Gardner and Jeanita Cadoret of Tarpon Springs, FL; 2 stepbrothers, Edgar Hebert and Francis Hebert both of Lady Lake, FL; 1 stepsister, Lucy Bernier of Montreal, PQ Canada; 1 aunt, Gertrude Hebert of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Clarence N. Hebert of Gardner and a stepsister Marguerite Sammarco of Needham.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 3rd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner, will be at a later date.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, February 2nd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
