David Wagg, 70, of 61 Lovewell Street, Gardner died peacefully, Saturday, June 2, 2012 in Heywood Hospital, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on November 12, 1941, he was the son of the late Leo and Lidia (Hymalainen) Wagg.
David grew up in the Pine Street area and had lived in South Gardner for 47 years. He attended Gardner Public Schools. During his youth, he helped out at his father's chicken coop in Hubbardston and as a teenager he worked at Starzynski's Bakery. He worked in the furniture industry and later was employed as a millwright in paper companies located in the Fitchburg area, and as a carpenter-millwright at Northfield Hydro Electric Co., Bear Swamp and the Yankee Atomic Plant, where he retired from in 1993.
David's favorite pastime was playing pool. He played for many years during his youth and began playing again following his retirement. He played at the Gardner Senior Center, was a member of Gardner Legion 2, and played in the Central Mass. Pool League.
He leaves one son, James Wagg and his wife Nancy of Hubbardston; one daughter, Joanne M. Wagg of Gardner; his former wife, Helen (Smith) Wagg of Gardner; and one cousin, Susan Bourque.
Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
