David L. "Dave" Richard, 47, of 485 Brown Street, Winchendon, died unexpectedly Thursday, September 20, 2012 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following an illness.
David was born in Gardner on May 24, 1965, the son of the late James Bourgeois and Janice (Richard) Bourgeois.
He was owner/operator of Dave Richard Construction Company of Winchendon for the past 15 years.
Dave graduated from Murdock High School, Winchendon with the Class of 1984. He attended Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, where he studied Criminal Justice.
Dave was a member of the American Legion, Eugene M. Connors, Post 193 of Winchendon and the National Rifle Association.
He served in the United States Army Reserves, and received the Army Service Ribbon, the Marksman Marksmanship Badge Rifle and the Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge.
Dave's hobbies included fishing, traveling and camping. He was an avid gun collector; enjoyed going to Foxwood's Casino and loved spending time with his family.
Dave leaves one son, Derek M. Richard of Gardner; one daughter, AnnMarie Richard of Gardner; his fiancé , Debbie L. MacAloney of Winchendon and her two daughters, Sherry L. Moseley and her husband Mark of Winchendon and Nicole MacAloney of Fitchburg; the mother of his children, Angela M. Richard of Gardner; four brothers, Timothy Bissonnette and his wife Tina of Orange, Kevin Bourgeois of Athol, Jason Bourgeois and his wife Heidi of Gardner and Philip Duverger of Winchester, NH; five sisters, Debra Bourgeois of Gardner, Becky Bourque and her husband Steven of Baldwinville, Anne Arslan and her husband Erkan of West Springfield, Carrie Bourgeois and her wife, Carmen of Gardner and Renee Duverger of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren, Aniaya Fisher, Jade Smallwood, Brianna Brewer; his biological father, Robert Duverger of Keene, NH; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one granddaughter, Rylee MacAloney.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, September 26th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a service at 11:30 a.m. in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Wednesday, September 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
