David Lee Marion Sr., 80, of Gardner, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, with his loved ones by his side.
Born in Fitchburg on February 6, 1943, he was the son of the late Paul and Ellen (Sillanpaa) Marion. He was a truck driver his entire life. David drove for multiple companies, was an owner-operator for a brief period, and was last employed by JBM.
David enjoyed time spent with family and friends playing cards. He enjoyed his country music, trips to the casino, playing bingo, betting on the horse or dog race, and watching car races. He never missed a race when his brother was on the track and could always be found in turn four at Monadnock Speedway.
David is survived by one son, David Lee Marion Jr. of Winchendon; three daughters, Lisa Marie Marion of Athol, Paula Ellen (Marion) Surette of Athol, and Jennifer “Jenny” (Senecal) Fortner of Orange; nine grandkids, Patrick Keese, Mason Marion, Phillip Marion, Brittany “his Britty” (Marion) Kukas, Isaac Fortner, Zachary Surette, Ramanda Fortner, Maibel Marion, and John Fortner; ten great-grandchildren; a loving ex-wife Lorraine Marie (Mercier) Marion of Gardner; two brothers, Robert Marion of Gardner, and Raymond Marion of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Paul R. Marion Jr.
A Calling Hour will be held Monday, April 10, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 10, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Bridge Street, Baldwinville, MA.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Please reference in memory of David Lee Marion.
