David R. "Dave" Laperriere, 60, of 276 West Street, Gardner died Friday, August 2, 2013 in his home surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on June 26, 1953, he was the son of the late Joseph R. and Helen L. (Hebert) Laperriere.
Dave was employed by Dell Corporation of Wellesley as an IT Security Administrator for 12 years, retiring recently due to illness.
He graduated from Narragansett Regional High School, Templeton with the Class of 1972, and attended Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner.
Dave was a United States Vietnam War Army Veteran, and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Expert (Rifle) Badge.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
Dave enjoyed reading, kayaking, camping, swimming and was a licensed scuba diver. He was selfless, loving, caring and compassionate to all he met, and was loved by all who knew him. Dave was a devoted husband and father, and treasured time spent with his family. He will be greatly missed.
He leaves his best friend and soul mate, his wife of 39 years, Janice M. (Yarnick) Laperriere of Gardner; one son, Jason R. Laperriere and his significant other, Erik DeAngelis of Providence, RI; one daughter, Nicole M. Laperriere of Gardner; two brothers, Roger Laperriere and his significant other, Mary Fisher of Phillipston and James Laperriere of Saegertown, PA; one sister, Jeanne Martini and her husband Vincent of Ladson, S.C.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa-Marie Laperriere who died at birth.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 6th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
Calling hours will be Monday, August 5th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
