David J. Holden, 77, 116 Church Street, Gardner died peacefully Tuesday, October 23, 2012 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner.
Born in Boston on March 26, 1935, he was the son of the late David and Irene (Albi) Holden.
David was educated at the Perkins School for the blind in Watertown, Massachusetts. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University with a Bachelors Degree of Liberal Studies.
David worked briefly for Technicolor of New England. He was a volunteer for the Boston Aid to the Blind. He also volunteered for the meal programs at various locations where he resided.
He enjoyed learning new languages, swimming and walking.
David leaves two special friends, Clyde and Marilyn Abbott of Westminster.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in Wildwood Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
