David P. Borleis, 53, of 17 Barthel Ave., Gardner, and formerly of Weymouth, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 3rd in his residence surrounded by his family, following a long illness.
Born in Baltimore, MD on November 6, 1956, he was the son of C. Donald Borleis.
David was a taxi driver employed by Shore Taxi of Quincy for 17 years until retiring due to illness.
He was a graduate of Doherty High School in Worcester.
David was a member of Bread of Life Church, Westminster. He loved being a taxi driver and enjoyed helping the people he served. David was a baseball fan, especially of the Boston Red Sox.
He leaves his wife of five years, Janet A. (Rahaim) Borleis of Gardner; his mother, Geraldine E. (Single) Borleis of Elverson, Pennsylvania; 2 brothers, Daniel M. Borleis and his wife Sue of South Carolina, Donald J. Borleis and his wife Shawna of North Carolina; 3 sisters, Deborah R. Breitkreuz and her husband Ken of Colorado, Diane M. Hubler and her husband Fred of Pennsylvania, Dawn R. McGurn and her husband Edward of Braintree; 3 uncles, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves a dear friend, Ginny Wirzbicki of Gardner and his beloved dog, Pokki.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6th at 12:00 noon in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Saturday, March 6th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Benevolent Society of the Bread of Life Church, Route 2A, Westminster, MA 01473.
