Daniel McCrillis

Daniel "Dan" P. McCrillis, 55, of 33 Pine Drive, Otter River, died Sunday, December 17th in Health Alliance - Leominster Hospital, Leominster, surrounded by his family following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Gardner on March 29, 1951, he was the son of Warren G. and Flora (Smith) McCrillis.

He was General Manager of Country Oil of Bernardston, MA for several years until retiring because of illness. He was previously employed by H & R Mfg. 1871 of Gardner and Digital Mfg. Co. of Westminster for 20 years.

Dan was a 1969 graduate of Narragansett Regional High School and attended Mount Wachusett Community College.

He was past president of the Otter River Sportsman's Club for several years and was a volunteer fire fighter in the town of Otter River for 20 years.

Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially in Alaska and Maine. He had a great sense of humor, and he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 34 years, Joanne (Richard) McCrillis of Otter River; one son, Ryan P. McCrillis and his wife Karen of Baldwinville; one daughter, Erin L. Warren of Otter River; one brother, Wendell McCrillis and his wife Minnie of North Grosvenor Dale, CT; 2 grandsons, J.J. Warren and Spencer McCrillis; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Warren and Richard McCrillis and one sister, Judith Dooley.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 20th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, December 19th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
