Daniel J. Kilty

March 19, 1957 — September 25, 2005

Daniel J. "Danny" Kilty, 48, of 40 Chestnut St., Gardner, died Sunday, September 25th in Heywood Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Cambridge on March 19, 1957, he was the son of Catherine (O'Brien) Kilty and the late Arthur Kilty.

At the time of his death he was a materials handler employed by Kirk Eastern Co. of Gardner for 18 years.

He was a 1975 graduate of Somerville High School and also attended Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.

Mr. Kilty was an avid reader and sports enthusiast who enjoyed the Boston Sports Teams - Bruins, Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics.

He leaves his mother, Catherine (O'Brien) Kilty of Malden; his wife of 18 years, Jennifer L. (Carlberg) Kilty of Gardner; 1 son, Jeffrey A. Kilty; 3 daughters, Hillary M. Meattey and husband Bryan, Danielle T. Kilty, Shannon L. Kilty all of Gardner; 3 sisters, Kathleen Kilty of St. Petersburg, FL, Eileen Kilty of Malden; Mary Kilty and husband Timothy of Titusville, FL; 1 granddaughter, Jillian N. Meattey of Gardner; 1 niece and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 28th at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Gardner.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6 Strathmore Rd., Natick, MA 01760 or to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of MA; 1 Bullfinch Place, 2nd floor, Boston, MA 02114.

The Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner is in charge of arrangements.
