Corinne Priscilla LeBlanc passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at age 94, in Baldwinville Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Baldwinville, MA.
Corinne was born in Gardner on May 22, 1923, the daughter of Adrienne (L'Huillier) and Joseph Alfred LeBlanc, and spent her entire life in Gardner.
Corinne attended Our Lady of the Holy Rosary School, and graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1941. She received her Associates Degree in Business from Clark University, Worcester in 1943. After graduation and after the death of her father, Corinne, along with her mother Adrienne and sister Rachel, took over the family business responsibilities of J.A. LeBlanc's Inc. Clothing Store. Upon the death of her mother, Corinne owned and managed the store until her retirement in 1998. She was the last family member to own and thus retired the J.A. LeBlanc's Inc. name. While in business, Corinne was a member of the Gardner Chamber of Commerce. Corinne was also a life-long member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church.
During WWII, Corinne organized and chaperoned a group of young ladies who joined the chief and largest group USO efforts in the United States at Fort Devens, MA offering recreation and morale boosting activities to the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Corinne loved her buying trips to Boston and New York accompanied by her sister Rachel as well as with her cousin Jeannette Hallock. Over the years, J.A. LeBlanc, Inc. became a household name in the Gardner community, and many share memories of hours spent browsing the latest fashions.
Corinne had impeccable taste, and was well known for her chic fashion and exquisite hats. She loved music, traveling, and she enjoyed mapping out and planning her next adventure. She had traveled to Cape Cod, Hawaii, and also a tour of Europe. Corinne loved her family, and her family enjoyed many holidays and visits to her home. She had a wonderful talent for entertaining and decorating. Her family spent many hours creating lasting memories around her table.
Corinne leaves her 18 nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great nieces and great-great nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Rachel LeBlanc, Estelle Ford, Lucille Slack, Beatrice Adams; and brothers Roger LeBlanc and Alfred LeBlanc.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 9that 10:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will be private and held at a later date.
There are no calling hours. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the church the day of the services.
