Constance T. Amato

Constance “Connie” T. (Dion) Amato, 87, of Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, January 6, 2022, in her home with her family by her side.

Born in Gardner on January 30, 1934, Connie was the daughter of the late Origene and Mary Rose (Desmarais) Dion. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1951. Connie was an Executive Assistant employed by the Offices of Leo P. LaChance for several years until her retirement.

Connie was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner where she was a member of its choir. She enjoyed playing BINGO, cards and golf. Connie loved to travel and visited many places with her late husband, Vincent, and her family and friends. Her greatest joy came from being with her family and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Amato of Malden; a stepdaughter, Lucinda Amato of Gardner; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Amato, Jr.; her sister, Claire Lajoie; her brother, Robert Dion and a stepson, Christopher Amato.

A Calling Hour will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA, will be private. 

Memorial Contributions may be made to Annunciation Parish, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Please reference in memory of Constance T. Amato.
