Conrad Bouchard

Conrad Bouchard, 78, of 34 Douglas Rd., Gardner died peacefully Friday, February 19th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont St., Worcester, surrounded by his family, following a short illness.
Born in Green River, New Brunswick, Canada on May 24, 1931, he was the son of Victor and Delina (Vaillancourt) Bouchard.
Conrad was a Press Room Supervisor employed by the former Collier-Keyworth Company of Gardner for 25 years until retiring in 1990.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Mr. Bouchard was a member of the Acadien Social Club, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Bishop Beaven Assembly of Fitchburg, Deep Sea Club, a member of the Board of Directors of the West End Beagle Club, was a founding member of the West End Beagle Club Camp in Ashburnham and was very active in its affairs.
Conrad enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, dancing, watching action movies like Rambo, playing cribbage, horseshoes and spending time at Foxwood's and Mohegan Sun Casinos. His most precious times were spent with his wife and family.
His wife of 54 years, Helena M. (Viel) Bouchard, died in 2005.
He leaves 5 sons, Donald L. Bouchard of Gardner, Jerry G. Bouchard and his wife Elaine of Templeton, James Bouchard and his wife Kelly of Leominster, Thomas Bouchard of Athol, Daniel Bouchard and his wife Annie of Chelmsford; 2 daughters, Ghislaine Ropes and her husband George of Hamilton, Rose Marie LaFond and her husband Donald "Rusty" LaFond of Winchendon ; 2 brothers, Ronald and Clifford Bouchard of Gardner; 1 sister, Claire Dembek of Naples, FL; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Edmond, Edgar, Albert and Reno Bouchard and 1 sister, Leanne Martin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 25th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, February 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
