Clyde J. Bennett, 76, of Ashburnham, died after a short illness on Thursday, March 29, 2018 in UMassMemorial HealthAlliance - Clinton Hospital of Leominster.
Born in Gardner on August 5, 1941, he was the son of the late Henry and Blanche (Cowdrey) Bennett.
Clyde was employed by F. W. Lombard Company of Ashburnham as a Truck Driver for 47 years, retiring in 2003.
He was a member of St. Dennis Church of Ashburnham and Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
Clyde enjoyed playing games at the Gardner Senior Center, listening to Country music, going to flea markets and playing Bingo.
He leaves his sister, Mary L. Shea and her husband John of Westminster; sister-in-law, Beverly Bennett of Hubbardston; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Clyde also leaves his longtime friend, Bernard Pelletier of Ashburnham. He was predeceased by five brothers, Francis, Fredrick, Kenneth, Melvin (who died during WWII) and Roland Bennett; and by four sisters, Dorothy Grancewicz, Rachel Pellett, Carolyn Daneault, Georgette Bennett and Gloria Marion.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday April 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Family and friends are asked to report directly to the church the morning of the services. Burial will be in New Cemetery, Ashburnham.
