Clifton “Clif” C. Stevens, 76, of Littleton, died unexpectedly Friday, August 27, 2021, in Nashoba Valley Medical Center, Ayer, with his family by his side.
Born in Augusta, Maine on January 11, 1945, he was the son of the late Clifton and Christine (Adel) Stevens. He graduated from Marlborough High School with the Class of 1963 where he was the Valedictorian, from Worcester State College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and from Fitchburg State College with a Master’s in Education. Clif was a Math Teacher employed by Natick and Gardner Public Schools Systems, where he also coached football and track, for several years until his retirement. At the time of his passing, he was working as councilor for the Veterans Agency.
Clif was a United States Army Vietnam War Veteran serving from 1968 to 1971, where he received the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts, the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Three Overseas Service Bars, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Clif was an avid fan of his Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and the University of Alabama Football team He always followed high school football especially Natick, Marlborough, Oakmont, and Gardner. But Clif’s pride and joy was his family, whom he loved and cherished all the times spent with them.
Clif is survived by his wife of 5-years, Judy (Beebe) St. Denis of Littleton; three sons, Jan Stevens and his wife Katie of Ashburnham, Karl Stevens and his wife Alexis of South Boston, and Kurt Stevens of Westborough; four stepchildren, Brian St. Denis of Littleton, Kerry Halfrey of Ayer, Pamela Adler of Falmouth, ME, and Alisyn Hoole of Windham, NH; a brother, Danny Stevens and his wife Roseanna of Augusta, ME; two sisters, Amanda Chesna and her husband Jimmy of Hudson, MA, and Lilyian Robert and her husband Dave of Florida; a grandson, Erik Stevens; two step-grandchildren, Noah Maillet and Allison Greenwood; his former wife, Miriam Stevens of Worcester; his dog, Lenny; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA 01440. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.
Calling Hours will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
