Clifford J. "Cliff" Mallet, 77, 71 Lake Street, Gardner died Thursday, March 31, 2011 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner.
Born in Gardner on September 7, 1933, he was the son of the late Wilfred C. and Leona (Chaisson) Mallet.
Cliff graduated from Athol High School with the Class of 1951. During his high school years he was a member of the baseball team, and in 1950 he pitched a "no hitter".
Cliff was a United States Army Veteran and received the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church in Athol.
Cliff loved music. He had a beautiful baritone voice and took music lessons in his early years. He sang at his sister Theresa's wedding in 1954. Cliff enjoyed walking and had a passion for fishing. He enjoyed going to the Paramount Cafe in Gardner and associating with his friends.
He leaves one brother, Gerard Mallet and his wife Martina of Viera, FL; one sister, Theresa M. Arsenault of Gardner; one uncle, Livian Mallet of Shippagan, N.B. Canada; one aunt, Sister Olive Mallet of the Congregation of the Holy Heart of Jesus and Mary of Joliette Quebec, Canada; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 9th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Avenue, East Templeton. Burial will be Tuesday, April 12th at 1:30 p.m. in MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
Calling hours in the funeral home will be Saturday, April 9th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
