Clifford A."Alcide" Cormier

Clifford A. "Alcide" Cormier, 64, of 202 Union Street, Gardner, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in Heywood Hospital of Gardner after being stricken ill at home.
Born in St. Damien, N.B., Canada on May 18, 1950, he was the son of the late Clement J. and Stella Mary (Cormier) Cormier.
Clifford was a truck driver employed by Advanced Coatings Company of Westminster for several years, retiring in 2005.
He received his GED in 2000.
Clifford was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 747 of Gardner.
He enjoyed working on tractors, walking and collecting antiques. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his wife.
Clifford leaves his wife of 46 years, Virginia L. (Berry) Cormier of Gardner; two sons, Michael C. Cormier and his wife Amanda of Holden and William E. Cormier and his wife Julie of Gardner; six sisters, Simone Hamel of Phillipston, Linda Krieger of Gardner, Nancy Thompson of Gardner, Lorraine Cormier and her husband Arthur of Gardner, Betty Valardi of South Carolina and Tina Goodrich and her husband Ron of Florida; five grandchildren, Dylan, Ashlyn, Amber, Sophia and Meadow Cormier; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Christine Cormier and by his sister, May Melanson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 28th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street of Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner, at a later date.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, March 28th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
