Clarence N. Hebert, 71, of 101 Lennon St., Gardner died Friday, September 17th in his residence following an illness.
Born in New Brunswick, Canada on April 24, 1933, he was the son of Arthur and Eva (Goguen) Hebert.
He was a wood turner employed by Andersson Woodturning Co. of Gardner for 42 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Mr. Hebert was an avid woodworker and enjoyed walking and traveling.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Irene M. (Leger) Hebert of Gardner; 2 sons, Gary N. Hebert and wife Janet of Gardner, Dennis J. Hebert and his fiancee Lettie Posk of Athol; 2 daughters, Karen A. Hulette and husband Ronald of Gardner, Lisa M. Bachand and husband Thomas of Granby; 3 brothers, Ernest Hebert of Fitchburg, Raymond Hebert of Gardner and Theodile Hebert of Tarpon Springs, FL; 2 half-brothers, Edgar and Francis Hebert, both of Lady Lake, FL; 4 sisters, Theresa Downing, Doris Collette, Delia Barbee, all of Gardner, Jeanita Cadoret of Tarpon Springs, FL; 7 grandchildren, Jason and Allison Hebert of Gardner, Shawn Maylin of Westminster, Curtis and Cody Hebert of Orange, Megan and Ryan Bachand of Granby; 1 aunt, Gertrude Hebert of Gardner, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Patrick Hebert of Cocagne, NB, Canada and 2 half-sisters, Lucy Bernier of Quebec City and Margaret Sammarco of Needham.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 22nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Church or Holy Rosary School, 135 Nichols St., Gardner, MA 01440 or to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
