Claire R. Lavoie

Claire R. (Goguen) Lavoie, 78, of 15 Ken Drive, Gardner, died Saturday, December 28, 2013 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, 55 Lake Avenue N, Worcester, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.
She was born in Leominster, on February 1, 1935, the daughter of the late Herve and Laura (LeBlanc) Goguen.
Claire graduated from Gardner High School, Gardner with the Class of 1952. She graduated from Henry Heywood School of Nursing in 1955.
Claire was a Registered Nurse employed by Heywood Hospital of Gardner for 18 years, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Holy Spirit Church of Gardner.
Claire enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening and needlework. She most enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 6 years, Gill M. Lavoie who died in 1995.
Claire leaves one son, Mark E. Levasseur and his wife "Chooch" of Leominster; three daughters, "Weez" A. Colburn and her husband Mitchell of Nova Scotia, Canada, Christine M. St.George and her husband John of Brookline, NH and Lisa E. Coleman and her husband Gary of Hubbardston; one sister, Jeanne M. Fitzgerald of Gardner; her first husband, Richard L. Levasseur of Leominster; three grandchildren, Jessica and Amanda Levasseur and Hannah St. George; and three nephews, Ed, John and Tim Fitzgerald. She was predeceased by her son, Thomas Levasseur who died in 2004.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014 with a Mass at 10:00 am in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner
