Claire T. (Shyne) Curran, 94, of Phillipston, MA, formerly of Leominster, MA, and Manomet, MA, died peacefully Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in her residence surrounded by her family.
Born in Watertown on March 1, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Elizabeth (Shea) Shyne. She graduated and received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, teaching at Groton Public Schools for many years until her retirement in 1983.
Claire enjoyed reading a good book and sharing books and her love of reading with family and friends. Her greatest joy was found when she was with her family, treasuring the special moments they had together.
Claire is survived by her two daughters, Noreen Curran of Mystic, CT, and Deirdre Griffin and her husband Randy of Phillipston, MA; four sons, Michael Curran and his wife Carrie of Cheshire, OR, Daniel Curran of Northfield, NH and his former wife Kathleen Curran of Laconia, NH, Kevin Curran and his wife Susan of Goffstown, NH and Patrick Curran of Leominster, MA; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, James E. Curran; and a grandchild, Aaron Curran.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, August 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 6 Bishop Road, Ayer, MA.
