Chester P. Krzykowski, 87, of 253 Ash St., Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, May 15, 2014 in his residence.
Born in Shelbourne Falls on May 20, 1926, he was the son of Stephen and Blanche (Swerzewski) Krzykowski.
Chester was an assembler employed by Simplex Time Recorder for 25 years until retiring in 1988. He also worked part time at Brazell's Package Store for several years.
He was a member of the Gardner Trout Club and the Hunt Club. Chester enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
Mr. Krzykowski was a World War II U.S. Army-Air Force veteran.
His wife of 47 years, Bertha C. (Gallant) Krzykowski, died in 2000.
He leaves four daughters, Jean B. Silberzweig and her fiance, David J. Dion of Westminster, Joanne C. Mailloux and her husband Roland (Landy) of Gardner, Nancy J. Shetrawski and her husband James of Gardner, Brenda M. Carvalho and her husband John of Fairhaven; a sister, Regina Bumpus of Gardner; 8 grandchildren, Shayna Silberzweig, Ashley Lawson, Lori Phinney, Gregory Mailloux, Melissa Cuthbertson, Sarah Shetrawski, Bradford and Jacob Carvalho; 2 greatgrandsons, twins Graham and Nolan Phinney; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Stephen Krzykowski.
Graveside services will be held at St. John's Cemetery, Gardner, on Tuesday, May 20th at 1:00 p.m. There are no calling hours.
