Charles F. Smith, 82, of Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, October 12, 2022, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
Born in Athol on September 8, 1940, he was the son of the late Frederick and Marcia (Tandy) Smith.
Charlie was a congregant of the First Baptist Church of Gardner. He loved playing BINGO, working on crafts, and cooking. Charlie loved the New England sports teams, especially his Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He also enjoyed going to local fairs, where he especially enjoyed going on rides.
Charlie is survived by a niece, Shannon Wade and her husband George, Shane Smith and his wife Christy Aucoin, Shad Smith and his wife Tabby; great-niece and nephews, Eric, Dan, Levi, Tanner, Mekiah, Harper; several cousins and his Clark St family.
He was predeceased by his brother, Carl Smith and sister-in-law Candy.
The family would like the thank the staff at Seven Hills and Care Central VNA for their loving and compassionate care.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery, Silver Lake Street, Athol, MA.
A Calling Hour will be held Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
