Charles W. Latowne, of Fitchburg, formerly of Hubbardston, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 15, 2025, in UMass Memorial HealthAlliance Hospital, Leominster.
Born in Worcester on December 8, 1937, he was the son of the late Hector J. and Rachel (Willard) Latowne. He graduated from Wachusett Regional High School with the Class of 1956. Charles was a lumber worker employed by Ted Curtis Lumber Mill of Hubbardston for 43 years until his retirement in 2000. In retirement he worked at Walmart as a clerk until 2006.
Charles was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church of Rutland. He was a member of the Hubbardston Lions Club, Hubbardston Historical Society, and served as a director for housing authority. Charles was a car enthusiast who loved to attend auto and drag races. He loved to listen to country music attending many concerts throughout his life, and was a gift photographer.
Charles was predeceased by his brother, Hector Letendre. He is survived by several cousins.
Graveside Services will be held in the spring.
