Charles J. Girouard, 75, of Hubbardston, died peacefully Friday, May 28, 2021, in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, after an illness.
Born in Gardner on September 25, 1945, he was the son of the late Charles C. and Helen S. (Danisienka) Girouard. He graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1963 and attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and Mount Wachusett Community College. Charles was an instructor employed by the Institute of Professional Practice of Fitchburg for several years until his retirement. He was previously employed by North Central Human Services for several years.
Charles was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Holy Spirit Chapel of Gardner. He was an avid photographer, woodworker, and reader, especially of science fiction books. Charles also enjoyed fishing, watching cowboy movies, and the Three Stooges. He loved drinking his Moxie Soda and watching sports, especially his New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and Boston Bruins. But the time that Charles loved and cherished the most was spent with his family.
Charles is survived by his wife of 52-years, June M. (Babineau) Girouard of Hubbardston; a son, Christopher C. Girouard of Orange; a daughter, Julie M. Cormier of Templeton; a brother, Michael E. Girouard and his wife Nancy of Rowlett, TX; a sister, Charlene H. Dixon of Pennsylvania; one grandson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn P. Roy; and a son-in-law, Gary P. Cormier.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Holy Spirit Chapel, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 51 Worcester Road, Hubbardston, MA.
Calling Hours will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
