Charles J. "Charlie" Gaidanowicz, 85, of 673 Baldwinville Rd., Baldwinville, died Monday, August 22nd in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on February 3, 1920, he was the son of Alexander and Josephine (Zetkowsky) Gaidanowicz.
He was Head Herdsman at Walter E. Fernald School, Templeton for 17 years until retiring in 1979. He also owned a dairy farm.
Mr. Gaidanowicz was a 1938 graduate of Gardner High School. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Baldwinville.
He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, polka music and polka dancing. He was a loyal fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Inez (Carpenter) Gaidanowicz of Baldwinville; many nieces and nephews and several cousins. He was predeceased by 2 brothers, Alexander and William Gaidanowicz and 3 sisters, Virginia Naughton, Mary Mikas and Leona Keegan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 27th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, August 26th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
