Cecilia (Clavette) Cyr, 83, of Gardner, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.
Born in Riviere Verte, New Brunswick, Canada, on February 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Alphonse and Cecile (Roy) Clavette. She was a Housekeeper employed by the family of Mr. and Mrs. Leo P. LaChance of Gardner for 56-years prior to her passing. She was previously employed by Digital Equipment Corporation of Westminster.
Cecilia was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, where she volunteered her time for their annual Bazaar and attended their weekly Thursday night BINGO. She also enjoyed knitting and quilting often donating her finished products and keeping her house in pristine condition. She also enjoyed traveling to Canada to visit family, cooking, baking and dancing. Cecilia’s greatest enjoyment came when she was with her family, treasuring all the special moments they had together.
Cecilia is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Cyr) Melanson and her husband Eugene of Gardner; two sons, Daniel R. Cyr of Ellsworth, ME, and Stanley B. Cyr of Gardner; four grandchildren, Corey Cyr and his significant other Jodie of Maine, Giselle Cyr and her significant other Nick and Jacob Cyr and his significant other Tammy of Maine, and Monique Daneault and her husband Adam of Gardner; five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Laney, Peyton, Brayson and Eliana; three sisters, Jeannine Soucy of Riviere Verte, NB, Canada, Alvine Gagnon of Edmonston, NB, Canada, Viola Roy and her husband Rene of Saint-Basil, NB, Canada; three brothers, Roger Clavette of Saint- Anne, NB, Canada, Fern Clavette of Royalston, and Clairmont Clavette of Shediac, NB, Canada; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fernand “Bea” Cyr; and a grandson, Luc Melanson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 12:00 p.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA, will be held in the spring.
Calling Hours will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
