Cecile Nivala

Cecile "Nana" (Savoie) Nivala, 91, of 32 Hospital Hill Rd., Gardner, died Friday, May 27th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in Gardner on August 19, 1913, she was the daughter of Michel and Celina (Babineau) Savoie.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society.
Mrs. Nivala enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading and watching her two favorite television programs, Every Loves Raymond and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Her husband of 51 years, Toivo Nivala died in 1985.
She leaves 1 son, Robert W. Nivala and wife Jacqueline K. of Gardner; 4 grandchildren, Gary R. Nivala and wife Deborah, Atty. Gregg Nivala and wife Cindy, Eric J. Nivala and Catherine Stewart and husband Leslie; 4 great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Patrick, Deidra and Robert Nivala; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 6 brothers, Leo, Alvin, Edgar, Edmond, Louis, George Savoie and 2 sisters, Yvonne Kirby and Rebecca Savoie.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, June 1st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
