Caroline Alberta (Czajkowski) Jeleniewski, 93, of Templeton, died peacefully Friday, September 8, 2023, in her home in Templeton.
Born in Gardner on March 3, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John and Valeria (Jwaszewski) Czajkowski. She graduated from Gardner High School and the College of the Holy Cross. Caroline was a Surgery Technician employed by Heywood Hospital of Gardner for 36 years before her retirement.
Caroline enjoyed reading, morning swims in the backyard pool, trips to the beach with her grandchildren, summer lobster boils and cups of hot coffee all day long. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She danced to Polka music and cooked delicious golumpki and borscht. She loved caring for her horses and never got rid of an old saddle. Caroline was lovingly called Ms. J by neighborhood kids, Nana by her great-grandchildren, Grammy by her grandchildren and Mum by her sons.
Caroline is survived by her two sons, John Joseph Jeleniewski Jr. of Templeton and Peter James Jeleniewski of Templeton; two grandchildren, Carie Ann Jeleniewski and Amie Lynn Ready; two great-grandchildren, Alannah and Kane Ready; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years, John J. Jeleniewski, who died in 2007; her brothers, Edward, Alphonse and John Czajkowski, and her sisters, Anna Hill and Stella Berkiel.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, September 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Patriots Road, Templeton, MA.
