Carla Lynn Jalbert

Carla Lynn (Salo) Jalbert, 73, of Gardner, died on Monday, February 1, 2021, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, after a long illness.

Born in Fitchburg on July 10, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Leo J. and Gleanore M. (Lafortune) Janssens. She graduated from Oakmont Regional High School with the Class of 1965. Carla was employed by the Human Resource Department of Raytheon Company for several years until her retirement. She was previously employed by Digital Equipment Corporation.

Carla was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She enjoyed reading, discussing politics, and watching old British television shows, and also cared for many cats and dogs throughout her life. Ogunquit, ME held a special place in heart, and many vacations and long weekends were enjoyed there. Carla’s most treasured time, though, was spent with her family, including festive annual Fourth of July and Thanksgiving gatherings hosted at her home. Her thoughtful and kind spirit will be missed.

Carla is survived by her husband of 43-years, Fernand W. Jalbert of Gardner; two daughters, Alisha Jalbert of Boston and Kristina F. Sullivan and her husband Randy of Palm Coast, FL; a son, Gary A. Jalbert, and his wife Karen of Tolland, CT; six grandchildren, Dillon, Corey, and Keegan Jalbert, Nicholas Sullivan, Samantha Masone, and Kingston Michael; a great-grandchild, Angelina Barton; a brother, Leo Janssens II and his wife Maribeth of Ashburnham; uncle and aunt; Neil and Judy Janssens of Gardner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
