Candy Ann (Vanderbilt) Savoie, 54, of 64 Main Street, Ashburnham, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully Monday, February 11, 2013 in her home, after being stricken ill.
She was born in Rochester, NY on March 3, 1958, the daughter of the late Earl James and Tomoyo (Yamazaki) Vanderbilt.
She graduated from Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School in Fitchburg with the Class of 1976. She attended the former Fisher College of Fitchburg.
At the time of her death, Candy was a teacher's aide with the Ashburnham/Westminster Extended Day Program.
She was a member of St. Denis Church of Ashburnham.
Candy enjoyed baking, reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Guy A. Savoie, who died in 2010.
She leaves two sons, Jeremy J. Savoie and his wife Kelsey of New Bedford and Jarrod J. Savoie of Leominster; one daughter, Angela M. Savoie of Ashburnham; one brother, James S. Vanderbilt and his wife Eveleen of Missouri; three sisters, Virginia A. Lashua and her husband Kevin of Ashburnham, Patty A. Bragg and her husband Steven of Ashburnham and Helen P. Vanderbilt of Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Ethan Pasakinskas, John J. Losordo III and Isabella L. Savoie; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 23rd at 2:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Reverend John E. Horgan will officiate.
Calling hours will be Saturday, February 23rd from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gardner Animal Control Facility, c/o Gardner City Hall, 95 City Hall Avenue, Gardner, MA 01440.
