Bruce D. Skamarycz, 63, of Gardner, died Monday, April 14, 2014 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester, following a brief illness.
Born in Gardner on July 7, 1950, he was the son of Frank and Genevieve (Maleski) Skamarycz.
Bruce graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1969, and later attended Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner.
He was employed in the Maintenance Department of Heywood Hospital of Gardner. He was previously employed by the former Simplex Time Recorder of Westminster for 35 years in various departments.
Bruce was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club of Gardner and the Ridgely Club of Templeton.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, ATV four wheeling and wildlife. He was also a NASCAR fan. Bruce most enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
He leaves his wife of 32 years, Lisa D. (Ellstrom) Skamarycz of Gardner; one son, David F. Skamarycz Gardner; one daughter, Kara A. Skamarycz of Worcester; one aunt, Nellie and her husband Stanley Koczan of Gardner; several nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Brian Skamarycz.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 18th at 11:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour in the funeral home will be Friday, April 18th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
