Brauney John Baublis, 86, of 44 Keystone Drive, Leominster, formerly of 252 Union Street, Gardner, died Friday, January 23rd in Keystone Center, Leominster, following a long illness.
Born in Athol on December 25, 1922, he was the son of the late Anthony and Veronica (Siveski) Baublis.
Brauney worked in the model shop of Digital Equipment Corporation of Westminster for 15 years, retiring in 1987. He was formerly employed by Nichols and Stone Co. and Heywood Wakefield, both of Gardner.
Brauney attended Athol High School, Athol. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Gardner. He was a member of the Otter River Sportsman Club, Templeton, the Polish American Citizens Club, Gardner and a member of the former Italian Club of Gardner. Brauney served in the Army National Guard.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and swimming. He was an avid fan of hockey and football.
Brauney was predeceased by his wife, Anita (Dziemdowicz) Baublis, who died in 1978.
He leaves two sons, Anthony Baublis and his wife Claire of Gardner and Stanley Baublis and his wife Carole of Gardner; his twin brother, Joe Baublis and his wife Edna of Athol; nine grandchildren, Anthony Baublis Jr. of Westboro, Alan Baublis of Kalamazoo, MI, Deborah Robichaud of Templeton, James Baublis of Westminster, Joseph White of Gardner and Linda Richard of Gardner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves his long time companion, Betty Rouleau. Brauney was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley Baublis and John Baublis; and by two sisters, Geneva Gagnon and Tina Batutis.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner, at a later date.
Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday, January 26th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
