Blanche A. (Manseau) Woodcome, 79, formerly of South Yarmouth and Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, October 25th in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner, surrounded by her family.

Blanche was the loving wife of the late Paul J. Woodcome of 54 years, who passed away on September 23, 2006.

She is survived by a son, Stephen Woodcome and his wife Susan of Templeton; four daughters, Patricia Woodcome of Peace Corps, Jamaica, Kathleen Vautour and her husband Norman of Gardner, Maryann Kulis and her husband Walter of Dracut, Cheryl Kasper and her husband Mark of Baldwinville; eight grandchildren, Todd and Courtney Woodcome, Katie, Travis and Ross Vautour, Logan and Dylan Kasper, Jeremy Kulis; a great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Woodcome; two sisters, Rita Stowell and her husband Donald of Gardner, Madeleine Arsenault and her husband Yvon of West Boylston; two brothers, Paul and his wife MaryJo of St. Paul, MN, Donald and his wife Janet of Cherry Valley; a sister-in-law, Lorraine Woodcome of Florida, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born in Gardner of August 17, 1927, Blanche was the daughter of the late John and Florida (Allaire) Manseau. She was predeceased by six brothers George, Edward, Norman, Leo, Roger and Robert; and two sisters, Lorraine and Doris.

Mrs. Woodcome was a graduate of Gardner High School, Class of 1945. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant at Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, before moving to South Yarmouth in 1985. She then worked as an Administrative Assistant at Cape Cod Community College in Barnstable before retiring.

Mrs. Woodcome was an active member of St. Pius the Tenth Church in South Yarmouth where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Alter Server. She was an active participant in the Catholic Woman's Guild and Mission group at St. Pius the Tenth Church; she also worked at the Chuch Bingo. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Church, Gardner, and was a member of the choir. Most recently, she was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Baldwinville.

Mrs. Woodcome enjoyed summers at the beach, swimming, walking, sewing, quilting and spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 28th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 1 Forest St., Baldwinville. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, October 27th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
