Blanche A. (Desjardins) McKellick, 97, of 135 Benton Drive, E. Longmeadow, formerly of 15 Corey Road, Springfield and also formerly of 9 Coleman St., Gardner, died Sunday, April 22nd in the Red Stone Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 135 Benton Dr., East Longmeadow.
Born in Rumford, ME on July 16, 1909, she was the daughter of Albert and Marie Louise (Cote) Desjardins.
She was a stitcher employed by the former George Bent Co. of Gardner for 17 years, retiring in 1970.
Mrs. McKellick was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner. Her hobbies included stamp collecting and traveling.
Her husband, Joseph A. McKellick died in 1981.
She leaves 1 son, Albert Joseph McKellick and his wife Doris of Chesapeake, VA; 1 sister, Jeannette Brown of Mexico, ME; 9 grandchildren, Monica Eaker, Heather Hutchison, Michael, Patricia, Barbara, David, Daniel, Kevin and Shannon McKellick; 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sons, Leo E. McKellick of Gardner, Gordon J. McKellick of Springfield and 3 brothers, Leo, Lucian, and Armand Desjardins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 25th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 166 Cross St., Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, April 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Memorial contributions maybe made to a charity of the donor's choice.
