Beverly J. (McAdams) Palmieri, 88, of 32 Hospital Hill Road, Gardner, died Sunday, September 13, 2015 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner, surrounded by her family following a long illness.
Beverly was born in Gardner on March 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Leon and Maude A. (Hilliard) McAdams.
She graduated from Athol High School of Athol with the Class of 1945, and served on the Reunion Committee for her high school class.
Beverly was employed by Niagra Cutter of Athol as a Secretary, retiring in 1989. She was previously employed by the former Union Twist Drill Company division of Litton Industries of Athol for 28 years as a Staff Secretary.
Beverly was a member of Bethany Baptist Church of Gardner.
Beverly enjoyed walking, reading, solving crossword puzzles and taking pleasure tours. She was an avid baker and cook and had a vast collection of recipes and cookbooks. Beverly loved spending time with her family.
Beverly was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, John B. Palmieri, who died March 7, 2008; and by her first husband of 25 years, Robert Darling, who died in 1972.
She leaves three stepsons, Scott J. Palmieri and his wife Kathleen of Gardner, Stephen H. Palmieri of Gardner and Jeffrey M. Palmieri and his wife Lisa of Gardner; two stepdaughters, Linda M. Bourgeois and her husband Gerald of Templeton and Nancy Palmieri of Leominster; one sister, Betty V. Davidson of Phillipston; six step-grandchildren and six step-greatgrandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition, Beverly (known affectionately as Aunt BeeBee to her nieces and nephews) leaves nieces, Paula D'Entremont of Gardner, Sandra Mariner of Wells, Maine and nephews, Bradley Smith of Westminster, Fred French Jr. of Phillipston and Thomas French of New Mexico. She was predeceased by one brother, Leon H. McAdams, Jr. and by two sisters, Christine M. Smith and Barbara C. French.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 18th at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
Calling hours will be held Friday, September 18th from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
