Betty J. (Taylor) Stone, 66, of Athol, died peacefully Sunday, September 16, 2018 in her residence following a brief illness.
Betty was born in St. Albans, Vermont on October 19, 1951, the daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude (Young) Taylor.
She attended St. Albans High School. Betty was a member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner.
She enjoyed knitting, cooking, baking and writing poetry. She also enjoyed attending tag sales, taking care of children and she treasured spending time with her family and friends.
Betty leaves her husband of 48 years, Michael P. Stone, Sr. of Athol; four sons, Michael Stone, Jr. of Athol, Matthew Stone of Athol, Robert Stone and his wife Laura of Greenfield, and Shawn Stone of Athol; two daughters, Angela Payne and her husband Ken of AZ and Kristen Lima and her husband Joe of FL; two brothers, Richard Taylor and his wife Janice of Rindge, NH and Buster Taylor and his wife Sheila of VT; three sisters, Beverly Lafrance of VT, Shirley Flood of VT and Anita Sartwell of VT; one sister-in-law, Jackie Taylor; four grandchildren, Lennon, Natasha, Devin and Mateo; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Robert Taylor; and by one sister-in-law, Mary Taylor.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 21st at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Friday, September 21st from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
