Bertha A. Gauvin, 79, of 21 Downing Road, Grande-Digue N.B. Canada, formerly of 14 Chestnut Street, Gardner, died Monday, August 14th in George Dumont Regional Hospital, Moncton, N.B. Canada.

Born in Moncton, N.B. Canada on November 26, 1926, she was the daughter of Edgar and Annie (Cormier) Gauvin.

She worked in the housekeeping department of Heywood Hospital, Gardner for 5 years, retiring in 1975.

Bertha was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner.

She leaves 3 brothers, Robert Gauvin of Gardner, Clarence Gauvin of Quebec City, Henry Gauvin of Middleton, CT; 2 sisters, Nadia Hachey of Gardner, and Theresa Peters of Lunenburg, MA; 3 aunts, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Laurie Gauvin and a sister, Margaret Melanson.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 24th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, August 23rd from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Church or St. Vincent de Paul Society, both at 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
