Bernadette Lavertue

Bernadette "Bernie" (Corriveau) Lavertue, 87, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner and formerly of 147 Mechanic St., Gardner died Tuesday, October 5th in LaChance Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing, Gardner, following an illness.
Born in St. Agatha, Maine on April 29, 1917, she was the daughter of Joseph and Eva (Rocineau) Corriveau.
She was employed in the housekeeping department of Heywood Hospital for 9 ½ years, retiring in 1991.
She received her GED in 1973. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary church.
Mrs. Lavertue enjoyed bingo, cooking and family gatherings.
Her husband of 53 years, Adrien Lavertue, died in 1990.
She leaves 1 son, Allen D. Lavertue of TN; 4 daughters, Connie E. Jalbert, Cecile M. Bouchard, Gisele M. Wilson all of Gardner, Jeannine Lavertue of Brooklyn, CT; 2 brothers, Adrien L. Corriveau of Lewiston, ME and Paul Corriveau of Plainville, CT; 3 sisters, Blandine Chasse of Bristol, CT, Emelda Doiron of New Britain, CT, Marie Poissonier of Sanford, ME; 29 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 3 sons, Roger J. Lavertue of Waterbury, CA, Lionel B. Lavertue of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Baby Elden Lavertue of St. Agatha, ME.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Rev. Andre Dargis, Pastor of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour at the funeral home will be Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
