Beloved wife, stepmother, sister and aunt, Berit M. (Remme) Dubuc, 82, formerly of Gardner, died peacefully in Mesa Arizona. Born in Bergen, Norway on January 19, 1937, Berit was the daughter of the late Hilma and Margit (Melan) Remme. She was raised and educated in Norway, and traveled widely throughout Europe until she moved to the United States in the early 1960s.
It was in the U.S. that Berit met the love of her life and future husband, Florent J. Dubuc, who was a well-known violinist and comedian. Berit traveled with her husband during his extensive show business career, and later they settled in Gardner until his death in 1990.
Berit is preceded in death by her husband, Florent J. Dubuc; and step-son, Ronald G. Dubuc. She is survived by her step-children Ted Dubuc (Audrey), Michael Dubuc, Danielle Dubuc-Pedersen (Lyle), and Paul Dubuc (Mary); as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in the U.S. and Norway.
A Catholic Mass with a private burial service will be held in Gardner, MA in the Spring, and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial contributions to a favorite charity.
