Bella Rose Gallant

Bella Rose (Bastarache) Gallant, 88, of 125 Connors St., Gardner, died peacefully Thursday, August 16th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville, surrounded by her family.
Born in Gardner on September 2, 1918, she was the daughter of Clovis and Alvina (Maillet) Bastarache.
Mrs. Gallant was a cafeteria worker employed by Mount Wachusett Community College/Richard's Catering for 4 ½ years until retiring in 1980. She was an upholstery cutter previously employed by the former Heywood-Wakefield Company of Gardner for 30 years.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Society. She enjoyed cooking, listening to Daniel O'Donnell Music and especially visiting with family in Maine.
Her husband of 48 years, Albert J. Gallant died in 1988.
She leaves 1 son, Normand A. Gallant and his wife Velma of Lunenburg, VT; 1 daughter, Barbara M. Ambrose and her husband David of Ogunquit, ME; 1 brother, Ernest Bastarache and his wife Angie of Escondido, CA; 2 sisters Yvette Poirier and Loretta Ducharme, both of Gardner; a brother-in-law, Frank Jannetti of St. Petersburg, FL; 4 grandchildren, Cathy A. and Brian N. Gallant, Susan L. Piaseczny, Glenn A. Ambrose; 5 great-grandchildren, Marika and Marcus Robinson, Kayla and Kelsey Piaseczny, and Matteo Ambrose; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 brothers, Neri and Eloi Bastarache and 2 sisters, Viola Jannetti and Doris Arsenault.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, August 19th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary School, 135 Nichols St., Gardner, MA 01440 or to Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, Hospice Program, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
