Beatrice M Leger

Beatrice M. (Brassard) Leger, 96, of Gardner, died peacefully, Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner, surrounded by her family, following a long illness.
Born in Georgiaville, RI on August 28, 1919, she was the daughter of the late C. Francis and Leontine (LaBonte) Brassard.
Beatrice was educated by the Sisters of the Presentation at their Convent in Granby, Quebec, Canada.
In her early years she was employed by the Royal Bank of Canada, and later spent her life as a homemaker.
She was a member of the Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner and its Ladies of St. Anne.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed knitting, was an excellent cook and loved to host parties. Beatrice was also a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox.
She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Godfrey D. Leger, who died September 2, 2009.
Beatrice leaves one son, Francis G. Leger and his wife Carole of Georgetown, Texas; two daughters, Susan B. Smith and her husband Travis L. of Peabody and Louise D. Morgenstern and her husband Robert H. of Gardner; special family friend, Sandy Signor; three grandchildren, Erin L. Foote and her husband Casey, Jason Morgenstern and his wife Laura and Jennifer Morgenstern and her significant other, Richard Medina; four great-grandchildren, Abigail, Benjamin, Liam and Gabriela; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Dolores A. Brassard.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 17th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 12:00 p.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 17th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner.
