Beatrice (Savoie) LaPrise, 93, of 105 Allen Street, Gardner, died Friday, April 27th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following a short illness.
She was born in Gardner on January 1, 1914, the daughter of John and Angeline (Richard) Savoie.
Mrs. Laprise was an upholsterer for many years. She was last employed by Custom and Modern Manufacturing Company, Gardner until retiring in 1974, and previously was employed by Chair City Upholstering, Gardner.
Mrs. LaPrise was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Gardner, and its Ladies of St. Anne Society. She was also a member of the Gardner Golden Agers.
Mrs. LaPrise loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching television and playing cards.
She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, George O. LaPrise, who died July 1, 2001.
She leaves one son, Donald R LaPrise and his wife Linda Kuropatkin of Gardner; one daughter, Jeannette P. Boucherd and her husband Robert of Gardner; 4 grandchildren, Randall Bouchard, Lynn Hager, Lori Oi¿½Rourke and Alyx LaPrise; 3 great-grandchildren, Nicholas Oi¿½Rourke, Ryan Oi¿½Rourke and Brent Hager; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Clarence, Alfred and Patrick Savoie; and by 4 sisters, Margaret Cormier, Alice Bourgeois, Rose Binnall and Anita Arsenault.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 2nd from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, May 1st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
