Barbara S."Barbs" Stanley

Barbara S. "Barbs" (Richard) Stanley, 62, of 147 So. Main St., E. Templeton, died suddenly Wednesday, May 27th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester, following a short illness.

Born in Gardner on March 6, 1947, she was the daughter of Fred and Mary (Shimshuck) Richard.

At the time of her death, Barbara was a dietary assistant employed by the Templeton Developmental Center of Templeton for the last 13 years. She was a welder previously employed by the former Collier-Keyworth Co. of Gardner for 12 years.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church, E. Templeton. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxilliary Post 129 of Gardner, and was an associate member of the Deep Sea Club, also of Gardner.

Barbara took much pride in her cooking and cleaning. She enjoyed fishing - both deep sea fishing and fresh water fishing. She especially enjoyed going to Wells, Maine.

She leaves 2 sons, Mark A. Stanley and his wife Monica Melchionne of Templeton, Paul R. Stanley of Orange; her fiance Leo A. Dube of E. Templeton;4 grandchildren, Tyler R. Stanley, Michael M. Stanley, Monica Stanley and Alisha Stanley; 1 aunt and several cousins. She also leaves her former husband, Raymond Stanley of Phillipston.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 4th at 9:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, 25 Lake Ave., E. Templeton. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, June 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
