Barbara J Richard

Barbara J. (Griffin) Richard, 64, of E. Templeton, died peacefully Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center of Worcester, from injuries sustained from a fall in her residence.
Barbara was born in Gardner on March 28, 1953, the daughter of the late James M. and Celine (LeBlanc) Griffin.
She graduated from Gardner High School in 1971, and received her Associates Degree in Business Administration from Mount Wachusett Community College of Gardner in 1973.
Barbara was as Executive Secretary employed by Templeton Developmental Center of Baldwinville for 26 years, retiring in 2015.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church of East Templeton.
Barbara enjoyed reading, shopping and attending classic car shows with her husband Serge. She loved her grandchildren dearly and treasured spending time with them.
She leaves her husband of 42 years, Serge J. Richard of E. Templeton; one son, Michael J. Richard of Athol; one daughter, Michelle L. Smart and her husband Scott of Gardner; three brothers, Peter Griffin and his wife Kelly of Gardner, Daniel Griffin of Chicopee, Richard Griffin and his wife Maureen of Gardner; two sisters, Carole Cormier and her husband Norman of Gardner and Mary Caldon and her husband Kerry of Suffield, CT; five grandchildren, Coby, Connor, Julia and Jake Smart, and Eric Richard; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Barbara was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Thomas Griffin.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 7th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 12:00 p.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 7th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
